Curricula development of a multilingual E-learning module on AI - A way to use AI in VET. #2

The CodeMeOut Team, March 8, 2023

In order to provide you as much information as possible through the platform, a total of 7 modules will be at your disposal, which are the following:

  • The history of AI: The concept of artificial intelligence (AI) dates back to the mid-20th century, when researchers first began exploring the possibility of creating machines that could perform tasks traditionally reserved for human beings. The term “artificial intelligence” was coined in 1956 at the Dartmouth Conference, a seminal event in the history of AI research that brought together leading computer scientists and mathematicians.
  • The terminology of AI: Artificial intelligence refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to perform tasks that would typically require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision making and natural language processing.
  • The AI revolution: The AI revolution refers to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology and its increasing integration into various aspects of our lives, from business and industry to healthcare and entertainment. However, there are also concerns about the impact of artificial intelligence on jobs, privacy and security, as well as the need for ethical guidelines and regulations to ensure that AI is developed and used in a responsible and beneficial way for all of humanity.
  • Applications: AI has revolutionized education by enabling personalized learning experiences for students. Through machine learning algorithms, AI can analyze student performance data and provide customized recommendations to improve their learning outcomes. With the help of AI-powered language translation tools, students and teachers can communicate more effectively across different languages and cultural barriers. This promotes diversity and inclusivity in education, and helps to break down the barriers to learning.
  • AI Ethics: AI Ethics is a rapidly growing field that seeks to address the ethical implications of AI and machine learning. It encompasses a range of concerns, including issues of fairness, accountability, transparency, privacy, and bias in AI systems. AI ethics is important because it ensures that the development and deployment of AI technologies are guided by ethical principles that promote the well-being of individuals and society as a whole.
  • Transversal skills for AI: Critical thinking, Collaboration, Creativity, Continuous learning and so much more.
  • Green and inclusive AI: Green and inclusive AI refers to the development and use of AI that is sustainable and environmentally friendly, while also promoting equity and diversity. This approach to AI aims to reduce the negative impact of technology on the environment, and also ensure that AI systems are designed and used in ways that benefit all stakeholders of society, regardless of their background or identity. By incorporating principles of sustainability, equity, and diversity into the development of AI, we can create a future where technology is both effective and responsible.
